Ok ... so this is my first post. I spent this past weekend contacting each of my "technology center" managers to secure dates/times for me to shadow and assist them with their group operations. Since I work in Higher Ed, my practicum hours will be spent working with three of the groups responsible for delivering and supporting technology for teaching, learning, and research. I'm looking forward to working with each group and learning more about what they do for faculty and students to advance the educational mission of the university via technology.

- Educational and Collaborative Technology Center
This center provides a state-of-the-art walk-in multimedia lab designed to help students and faculty explore their creativity and imagination to create stunning interactive multimedia in support of their academic classes. The Center collaborates with faculty in several colleges and departments to coordinate curricula and assignments so that the Center can be an extension of the classroom. The Instructional Design team works in the is group as well. - Classroom Technology and Audiovisual Services
The Audiovisual Services team provides traditional audiovisual and computer-based teaching, presentation technologies, and video conferencing technologies, to meet current and emerging needs of the students, faculty, and staff in lecture halls, classrooms, conference rooms, and off-campus venues. - Instructional Systems and Services
The Instructional Systems and Services team's primary goals are to: 1) advise and assist faculty in the pedagogically sound use of technology in teaching and learning; 2) advise faculty on how to effectively solve educational problems (such as increasing student learning outcomes) utilizing academic technologies; and 3) assist college leadership with planning and implementing new initiatives involving academic technologies.
